Go to Phrao district and visit Jet Sri (seven colors) waterfall 26 kilometers from town. Stop off at Wat Doi Mae Pang, before traveling a further 27 kilometers to the Chiang Dao Caves and Wat Tham Pa Plong. 70 kilometers from Royal Ping Resort , Chiang mai is Wiang Haeng district where you can visit the Sri Sang Waan waterfall. From October to January, take time to see the blooming Sakura flowers. Enjoy the ancient architecture at Wat Phra That Saen Hai and Wat Faa Wiang In, or take a raft trip from Wiang Haeng along the Taeng river, getting off the pier in Mae Taeng District.
Visit Fang, about 100 kilometers away, shopping at the Tha Nathon orangery and the chiang mai hot spring. A road leads off for the 27 kilometers journey to the temperate plants and fruit trees of the Angkhang Royal Project.
From Fang, it's a further 27 kilometers to Tha Thon and the beautiful Kok river. Visit Wat Tha Thon to see the many varied and colorful kutis(monks' residences), built on two hills.
From Tha Thon you can travel to Chiang Rai province by river or road. By river the journey takes around 3 to 4 hours. By road it's 98 kilometers, passing through Doi Mae Salong, Phra That Doi Thung, the border at Mae Sai and the Golden Triangle. |
